In 2024, an Australian zoo planned to launch a night-time lantern festival to attract visitors and enhance their night tourism offerings. Initially, the client had very little concept of how to design, produce, or implement such a project. We proposed a solution tailored to the unique characteristics of the zoo, creating custom lanterns inspired by various animals to match the venue and engage visitors.
Project Scale and Delivery Timeline
The project included dozens of custom lantern display groups for an Australian zoo. After the concepts were confirmed, the detailed design stage took approximately 15 days, followed by around one month of factory production and testing. The completed lantern displays filled approximately 10 shipping containers, and door-to-door transportation to Australia took more than 40 days.
Factory Pre-assembly and Installation Support
Before shipment, the lantern displays were pre-assembled and illuminated in the HOYECHI factory for inspection and testing. Large displays were manufactured in modular sections to simplify container loading, transportation, and onsite assembly. HOYECHI also provided installation drawings and remote technical guidance to support the local installation team in Australia.
